“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18

I wrote this song for the healing journey during a season in my life when I was shocked and devastated by multiple betrayals and everything I cared the most about seemed to be falling apart.

At the same moment, one of my dearest Sisters in Faith and prayer partners was also facing one of the most confusing and difficult trials of her life. For two completely different reasons, we were both asking God, the same question every second of every day; “Why?” Although my friend and I along with billions of others are still wondering, our faith in God’s goodness no matter what continues to see us through.

This song is a heartfelt prayer, and as I share it with you, I hope will shine some light into any present darkness (Ephesians 6:12) you may be traveling through. I pray as you listen, you’ll dare to believe you’re going to get through this and you’re never alone.

Please seek out wise counsel and safe people. Please don’t try to do this alone. We’re designed to heal in community and I promise you, God is working all things for your good and His glory as we continue to shine His loving light, together.

It’s ok to feel sad sometimes, please, as my dear friend Susie encouraged me, please ‘be courageous enough to slow down.’ Grief is work, and You are Worth the Work!

Something Else

by Juni Felix

Their faces are warm and friendly
And I know their concern is real
And I hear You softly whisper
Telling me that my heart will heal

But Father, why did this happen
Father, do you know how this feels
Father, please take this pain from me
And give me something else to feel

Like echoes all around me
They’re asking me what I need
But I can’t find the words to explain
Right now I need help to breathe

Please Father, why did this happen
Father, do you know how this feels
Father, please take this pain from me
And give me something else to feel

Embrace me
Surround me
Remind me
That my heart will smile again

Father, you know why this happened
Father, you know how this feels
Father, you feel this pain with me
And I know that someday
My heart will heal
